Welcome To Ryther Village Hall

About the Village Hall

Ryther Village Hall was first built in 1983 as a social facility for the community.  The original committee organised fund raising events to raise money, the land was purchased when the east coast railway went through the area. Unfortnately due to lack of funds the project ground to a halt.

In 1999, after a public meeting in the village, a committee was formed to try and get the shell of the building completed.  With the help of North Yorkshire County Council / Selby District Council and various other funders, we managed to persuade 38 Royal Engineers Regiment from Claro Barracks in Ripon to undertake work in the community.  After a two week visit, the engineers left us with a fully completed building that now is used for a multitude of activities.

Recent improvements include a new storeroom extension, sound proofing to the building and attractive ceiling linings
